If you are experiencing an eye emergency, call us right away at (703) 542-8888.
Eye emergencies are any injury or issue that could cause long-term damage to your vision. Symptoms that warrant an immediate visit to our office include:
If you have a corneal abrasion, do not rub your eye and do not put on an eye patch. Keep your eye closed. A scratched cornea is not only painful, but it also makes your eye susceptible to infection. Even if the scratch is minor, it’s important to visit us to help prevent infection.
If any chemical enters your eye, rinse for at least 15 minutes with clean, cool water. It’s important to rinse continuously even if the pain subsides, as any residue can continue to damage your eye if left behind. After you’re done rinsing, call us for an emergency appointment. Be prepared to tell us what substance you got in your eye and bring the container if possible.
Do not try to remove foreign objects from your eye yourself. If something has entered your eye, visit us or an emergency room right away. It’s also important to visit us right away if you have loose debris in your eye. Debris can move around, causing scratches and damage your eye, especially metal fragments.
What a great experience with Associated in Eyecare Optometrists. The staff was very professional and helpful. They took the time to listen with our concerns and were very understanding with our needs. Highly recommend going to see them.
Everyone here is always so kind and helpful. I never feel like they are rushing me to get to someone else. The doc sat with my son for an hour, patiently coaching and helping him get is first contacts in and out and in again. Thanks to all.
Everyone was super welcoming. The Doctor explained everything and showed me pictures of the backs of my eyes. They explained how everything worked with my insurance and was very helpful picking out my new glasses. I will recommend them to everyone I know.
Our office is conveniently located in the Village Center Plaza, between GNC and Harris Teeter.
